Clayton woman, 82, visits Haiti 58 times in three decades

"I'm grandmommy to them," she says. "These children just give you so much love."

Little, her church and others raised money to build the children's home in the aftermath of a massive earthquake in January 2010 that killed thousands of people.

She was in the island nation when the earthquake struck. Despite the devastation that followed, her faith never wavered.

"I knew I was in a place where God wanted me to be to do work," she says. "If you look in those children's faces, you know that a difference has been made."

Visiting the children three years after the quake, Little is touched by their stories. In the wake of great loss, Little says the love at Ryan Epps Home gives children hope for the future.

"Life is much better than it used to be," she says. "These are my children."
