Clayton police nab five in prostitution sting

Five women were arrested Thursday following an online sting targeting prostitution in the Clayton area, police said Friday.

CLAYTON, N.C. — Five women were arrested Thursday following an online sting targeting prostitution in the Clayton area, police said Friday.

Teela Marie Hurst, 21, of 775 Debro Road in Kenly, Desire Gisselle Hope Youngs, 23, of 30 Jorgan Lane in Henderson, Karen Gibson Muir, 42, of 3215 Capital Blvd. in Raleigh, Hannah Reno Bumguardner, 22, of Raleigh, and Grethchen Marie Krantz, 28, of 3-B Lagoon Drive in Wrightsville Beach, were each charged with one misdemeanor count of soliciting for prostitution.

Hurst and Youngs also face drug charges.

Clayton police said they received a complaint that women were placing ads on the Internet offering sexual favors for money.

The Raleigh Police Department and the state Division of Alcohol Law Enforcement assisted in the online sting that led to the arrests.
