Clayton, N.C. — Clayton police on Wednesday released a woman who they previously said tried to cash checks from a stolen purse last week.
Lindsay Danielle Lee, 21, of Selma, is no longer charged in the case and was released, authorities said.
Clayton police are still searching for a suspect after a purse was stolen from an unlocked car at East Clayton Dog Park on Glen Laurel Road last Monday.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 919-553-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 919-359-8479.
Editor’s note: Clayton police said Wednesday that additional investigation of the incident led to the charges against Lee being dropped.
