— Three Raleigh men are in jail after a weekend marijuana bust in Clayton that resulted in authorities seizing more than 70 grams of marijuana packaged and ready for sale.

Clayton police responding to a 911 call Friday night about a suspicious person with a gun near Champion Street pulled over a car and found 74.2 grams of marijuana and a handgun believed to be related to the initial 911 call.

Dyrick Mohammed Morgan, 24, of 317-1 Roselle Court; Nyshawn Tyron Havens, 21, of 1746 Sorrellbrook Way; and Xavier Anthony Betran, 20, of 2719 Conifer Drive, were each arrested on felony charges of possession with intent to sale and deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, manufacturing marijuana and possession of a stolen firearm.

Morgan, who was also wanted by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety as an absconder on robbery and drug charges, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, identity theft (for allegedly using a false identity) and resisting a public officer.

He was being held Monday evening in the Johnston County Detention Center under a $142,000.00 secured bond.

Havens and Betran were each jailed under a $70,000 secured bond.

"The manufacturing charge comes from their having broken down their stash into packets for sale." from: spiritseeker Breaking down, or repackaging constitutes, intent to distribute, not manufacture. If any is found in more than one package or any other packaging material, scales, etc, grounds for intent to distribute. Plants, pots, or potting material, is manufacture or intent.

The three ounces of weed seems like the least of the issues given the other charges of these fine individuals.

Good bust, but how can they charge them with (manufacturing marijuana). Did they have a grow operation in the trunk?
