CLAYTON, N.C. — Johnston County sheriff's investigators said three men rushed into a home at 150 Glenn Street around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and shot a man inside.

Lakeysa Dixon said the man, Darius Ray, 18, is her brother, and that he lived there with their grandmother, who was home but wasn't hurt in the attack.

"She's just nervous. Everyone is just a little shaken up right now," Dixon said.

Dixon said her brother was hit in the hand, leg and buttocks and spent eight hours in surgery Sunday.

"I'm just praying for a speedy recovery," she said. "I know we have a long way. I'm just praying that he makes it through."

By Sunday evening, Ray was in critical but stable condition at WakeMed, his sister said.

Authorities had not made any arrests in the case, and Dixon refused to speculate about who attacked her brother or why.
