— Johnston County sheriff's investigators said three men rushed into a home at 150 Glenn Street around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and shot a man inside.

Lakeysa Dixon said the man, Darius Ray, 18, is her brother, and that he lived there with their grandmother, who was home but wasn't hurt in the attack.

"She's just nervous. Everyone is just a little shaken up right now," Dixon said.

Dixon said her brother was hit in the hand, leg and buttocks and spent eight hours in surgery Sunday.

"I'm just praying for a speedy recovery," she said. "I know we have a long way. I'm just praying that he makes it through."

By Sunday evening, Ray was in critical but stable condition at WakeMed, his sister said.

Authorities had not made any arrests in the case, and Dixon refused to speculate about who attacked her brother or why.

    Thanks for proving my point.

You cannot rationally discuss any topic. Everything is emotion with you and you want everything you don't like banned. Perhaps you and Grand Union can move to his western european utopia and you will be happy.

75% of those 100,000 needed to be shot. i.e gang bangers, crimminals, police shooting crimminals.

I'm sorry, are the 100,000+ shot every year non-emotional enough for you?

The police do not decide on what charges are pursued in court. One more example of the poor educational system in this state. Civics is apparently no longer taught.

There are laws against the use of guns in committing a felony but the police do not enforce them. They are always back on the street too soon and they kill again and again. Sometimes I do wonder if the police arn't a bit afraid of the worse criminals.

Once again the anti's can't post without devolving into name calling. I guess this is what happens when all reason is thrown to the wind and one operates only on emotion.

Didn't expect anything else from the gun hater of the year.

Actually the former would be more effective as long as there are kitchens and in them are knifes. But once we get all of our food prepared from a box maybe of course by that time we'll be able to just 3d print anything. Anyway, such speculations are just silly.

You'd think so, listening to some of these wannabe Rambos.

How did this get to be gun related? When a gun toter stormed into the house and started shooting with a GUN, that's how.

    Not one more.
