A Clayton man was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle accident in eastern Wake County, police said.

<b>WENDELL, N.C.</b> — A Clayton man was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle accident in eastern Wake County, police said.

Christopher Caleb Eargle, 21, was westbound on Wendell Boulevard west of Rolesville Road when he lost control of his motorcycle and went into a ditch on the  right side of the road, police said.

Eargle was taken to WakeMed, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said it appeared the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed when the wreck occurred.
