Clayton man faces DWI, child abuse charges

William Donald Deloatch, of Clayton, faces several charges, including misdemeanor child abuse, after Raleigh police stopped him in downtown Raleigh Wednesday night for allegedly speeding.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Clayton man faces several charges, including misdemeanor child abuse, after Raleigh police stopped him in downtown Raleigh Wednesday night for allegedly speeding.

Arrest warrants indicate that William Donald Deloatch, 48, of 407 Dairy Road, Clayton, was driving 50 mph in a 35 mph speed zone and had a blood alcohol concentration of .14.

In the car was an 8-year-old child, according to arrest documents.

Deloatch was jailed under a $5,000 bond on charges of driving while impaired, driving with a revoked with license revoked, speeding and misdemeanor child abuse.
