A Clayton man was charged Sunday with trying to sexually assault a 17-year-old girl, police said Monday.

<b>CLAYTON, N.C.</b> — A Clayton man was charged Sunday with trying to sexually assault a 17-year-old girl, police said Monday.

Joseph Alexander Rauseo, 38, of 237 Hein Drive, was charged with kidnapping and attempted sexual assault. He was released from jail after posting a $250,000 bond.

The teen reported that Rauseo restrained her and tried to assault her, police said, but she was able to escape and get help.
