City of Oaks marathon, Guy Fawkes lead our weekend best bets

— This week is First Friday in downtown Raleigh! Get ready for music, drink and food specials and more! Check out our official guide to the fun.

The Raleigh City of Oaks Marathon and Rex Healthcare Half Marathon returns for its seventh year this Sunday. Thousands of athletes are expected to participate. Out and About has the latest on the street closures.

Fayetteville Street will be on fire, literally, Saturday night for the Guy Fawkes Night celebration. This annual celebration is being hosted by The Oxford, Raleigh's first gastropub. There will be live music, food trucks, beer, circus performers and a giant fire statue. The event is free and runs from 5-11 p.m. 

Drake might have canceled his show set for this weekend at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, but there are a lot of other bands playing in the Triangle and beyond. 

The doc is in. Former star of the show "House," Hugh Laurie, and his Copper Bottom Band will play Carolina Theatre of Durham Friday night. Tickets start at $33. Hugh Laurie

Country star Hunter Hayes plays the Greensboro Coliseum Complex on Saturday night.

On Sunday, John Fogerty plays the Durham Performing Arts Center. 

The North Carolina will present the Kid's Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday at Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh. Dress in your favorite costume and get ready for some spooky tunes. 

Get dressed in your favorite 1980s gear and head to Coglin's in downtown Raleigh for their 80s themed masquerade. Psychics will also be there to help read your fortune!

October might be over this weekend, but you can still have a great time at West 94th Street Pub's Oktoberfest. The event, which runs from 2-6 p.m., will benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. There will be live entertainment featuring The Bright Min=es, German style food and beer samples from local breweries.Halloween Spooktacular

Head to the Raleigh Convention Center to check out international professional and emerging artists in the World of Art Showcase happening this weekend. A weekend pass is $30 and daily adult tickets are $15. Students can get in for $10.

Two bar crawls going on Saturday night in Raleigh.

First up, Social Magazine is hosting the Crawloween Halloween Bar Crawl starting at Still Life in downtown Raleigh. Stops will include Dual, Oryx and Solas. Tickets are $10.

The Boogeyman Bar Crawl will be hitting Glenwood South. Tickets are $25 and include admission into four bars and one dance club.

Falls Lake Academy is holding a fall festival Saturday at Three Bear Acres in Creedmoor. Crafts, carnival games and McGruff the Crime Dog and Smokey the Bear will be there.
