Frank Theaters, including the CineBowl & Grille at Parkside Town Commons in Cary, has a sensory-friendly movie series for kids with autism or other special needs.

During the screenings, the lights are on and the sound is low. Kids also are welcome to sing, dance and otherwise enjoy the show.

Here's the schedule. More information is on the theater's website.

Aug. 5: Emoji Movie

Sept. 2: Nut Job 2

Oct. 7: My Little Pony: The Movie

Nov. 18: Justice League

Dec. 16: Ferdinand

The theater is at 1140 Parkside Main St., Cary.

It's one of several offering sensory-friendly screenings. Others include Park West 14 in Morrisville and AMC Southpoint 17. Marbles Kids Museum also launched a sensory-friendly series at its IMAX theater last year.
