Church congregation recovers from food illness

Cary, N.C. — About 40 members of North Cary Baptist Church on Reedy Creek Road got sick after sharing a pot-luck lunch last Sunday.
Pastor Mark Minervino said on Saturday that the Wake County Health Department thought the illness was likely caused by norovirus.
Noroviruses cause symptoms of intestinal distress. It spreads quickly in confined spaces and is common in hospitals and cruise ships.
No one from the church had to be hospitalized.
The pastor plans to hold service Sunday as usual.
