Just in case you have to make a last minute trip to the grocery or drug store on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, here are the hours for our local stores. Most stores are closed Christmas Day, other than drug stores, so make sure you plan ahead.
Check the drug store websites for specific hours for your store. Many have their Christmas Day and Christmas Eve hours listed.
Drug Stores
CVS: Many CVS stores will be open until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Many CVS stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day. Check with your specific store for their hours. Pharmacy hours may vary. Select CVS pharmacies will be open on Christmas Day from 10 am – 6 pm.
CVS.com Rite Aid: On Christmas Eve, many stores are open 7 am – 7 pm, but not all. Some are open 9 am - 5 pm and some will be open different hours. On Christmas Day, select stores are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check with your specific store for their hours. Select Rite Aid pharmacies will also be open on Christmas Day. For instance, the location in Clayton is open from 10 am – 4 pm on 12/25, but the Garner location on Timber Dr and the Cameron Village location in Raleigh are not open on 12/25.
RiteAid.com Walgreens: Many Walgreens stores will be open until midnight through December 24. Most stores open 8 am to 10 pm on Christmas Day. Contact your store for the specific hours of your location. According to Walgreens, their pharmacies will be closed Christmas Day.

All of the stores below are closed on Christmas Day. Below are the hours that most are open on Christmas Eve.
Aldi will be closed on Christmas Day.
Carlie C's: Carlie C’s is open until 6:00 pm on Christmas Eve (12/24). They will be closed Christmas Day (12/25). The pharmacies will be open until 4 pm Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.
Dollar General: Most Dollar General stores are open until 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. They will be closed on Christmas Day.
Food Lion: Food Lion is open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. They will be closed on Christmas Day.
Harris Teeter: Harris Teeter will be open until 7:00 pm on Christmas Eve. They will be closed on Christmas Day. Stores will re-open on December 26 at 8 am.
Kmart: Most Kmart stores are open until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. They will be closed on Christmas Day.
Kroger: Kroger stores and pharmacies will close at 6 pm on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day. All stores reopen at 7 am on 12/26 and pharmacies reopen at regular time on 12/26.
Lowes Foods: Lowes Foods will be closed on Christmas Day. They will open on Saturday, 12/26 at 7 am.
Publix: Publix will be open on Christmas Eve until 7 p.m. They will be closed on Christmas Day. They will resume regular hours on 12/26.
Target: Most Target stores will be open until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Target will be closed on Christmas Day.
Walmart: Many Walmart stores will be open on Christmas Eve until 8 p.m. Check with your specific store for their closing time on 12/24. Walmart stores will be closed Christmas Day.
