I hope the child is ok and the operator of the car is charged with child endangerment.....sunshine1040

Have you ever had a squirrel, rabbit, dog, cat or any other animal run out in front of your car? There is not always time to react. So then sunshine, how can you wish prison time on someone who you have no clue, committed a crime. There is such a thing as an accident. Of course, you are perfect.

OK. Sorry, I didn't see the earlier version.

I work across the street and was immediately thinking he got hit, people jaywalk across that street like crazy!

I hope the child is ok and the operator of the car is charged with child endangerment. Was the car parked improperly or did some one start the car before making sure all were seated with seatbelts on or did brakes fail on the car. Any of the above show that driver did something inproperly

What difference does it make if WRAL reports every detail, or not. Half of y'all don't read what's there. The word "hit" is not in the headline, or the story. The child was hurt getting into the car when the car started to move.

These stories are what they read on the news cast. Not much information. Just enough to get the main idea across.

Orig story around 11:00 am said/read hit by car in the headline and story..They have updated the wording on it since then...If you watch the stories on here they do change facts and wording on them quite often.

Glock Ranger, I can assure you the original story indicated the child was hit by a car.

oops , lol, I meant Journalism! sorry :-)

First of all let me start off by saying that I hope the child AND the driver are OK. Next I'd like to know what the point is of putting this story up with virtually no information about anything other than a child was hit at the corthouse in Durham. If you read the title, you've read all the info in the story. Is WRAL just trying to scare every parent that has a child anywhere near the courthouse? WRAL and professional journalizm are two different things.
