BEAR CREEK, N.C. — A Chatham County man was arrested Tuesday for solicitation of a child, according to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received a report in February that Ryan Charles Solowsky, 23, of 214 Herring Path in Bear Creek, was sending inappropriate messages to a minor via cell phone.

Authorities said a search of the cell phone showed that Solowsky had enticed the child to commit an unlawful sex act.

Solowsky was charged with one count of felony solicitation of a child by electronic device. He was being held under $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.
