Chatham County 911 system problems resolved

Posted February 3, 2011

— Equipment issues caused problems with Chatham County's 911 system for about an hour Thursday morning, a county spokeswoman said.

The equipment problems affected phone lines and caused some 911 callers to get a busy signal, spokeswoman Debra Henzey said. Residents were given an alternate number (919-542-2811) to call for emergencies.

Henzey said that repairs have been completed, and residents should be able to 911 as usual.

It's entirely more complicated than ctl/alt/del whether it's interface is an IBM Clone PC or MAC. Good troubleshooting method though. Not everything is fixed with a reboot. And yes.....I am a 911 Technician so I do know what I'm talking about.

    "crl/alt/delete... then reboot...."

Get a Macintosh! Then it won't lock up.
