RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh charter school has filed a racial discrimination suit against the state.

Sparc Academy is accusing the state Board of Education of "deliberately and knowingly" conspiring to close black charter schools.

The board cited poor test scores and the lack of certified teachers when it decided earlier this year not to renew the charter for the school.

The school insists it corrected certification problems.

Sparc Academy’s charter expires at the end of the month.
