HENDERSON, N.C. — A Charlotte woman died early Monday when her disabled car was hit on Interstate 85 in Vance County, authorities said.

Deiisa Crawford, 23, was involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer at about 2:30 a.m. that left her car disabled in the northbound lanes of I-85, near mile marker 220, authorities said.

Jason Self, of Long Beach, Miss., then hit Crawford's car with his Jeep. Authorities said he didn't see the wreckage before hitting it.

A passenger in Crawford's car, Leshonda Frederick, was transported to Duke University Hospital, but her condition was unknown. A 4-year-old boy in the car was taken to Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson with minor injuries, authorities said.
