Charlotte fire captain arrested in road rage incident

Posted 3:05 a.m. Thursday

— A Charlotte Fire Department captain has been arrested in a road rage incident in Concord.

Local news outlets report that 37-year-old Brent Jacob Mincey was arrested Monday on a charge of assault by pointing a handgun.

Concord police say Mincey pointed the gun at a driver following a dispute Monday morning at an intersection.

Charlotte fire Capt. Jackie Gilmore says the fire department is aware of the incident and is investigating the case.

Mincey is free on $1,000 bail. He declined to comment on the case. His attorney, Chris McCartan, says he had just begun collecting evidence for Mincey's defense.
