Charge: Prison visitor was smuggling drugs

Posted February 3, 2012

— A woman who started her day Thursday as a visitor at Johnston Correctional Center in Smithfield ended it as a guest of the state at the Johnston County Jail.

Tammy Amaon, spokesman for the sheriff's office, said Valenica Dawn Williams, 39, of Burlington, was charged with six drug-related offenses after she was found with what appears to be marijuana and cocaine during a visit to an inmate at the prison.

Amaon said Williams had four bags in her pants pockets. One bag contained suspected cocaine and the others suspected marijuana. She was taken to the jail, where she was under $300,000 bond Friday.

This happens all the time, and most time it don't make the news. It's not right, and she looking at spend a lot of money and if not jail some serious probation time. The worse this could be if it's found out it is her son she was visting.

I'm ok if it was just MaryJ but not Coke. Maybe the inmates would relax more if we gave them some MaryJ
