Charge filed in fatal Durham Freeway shooting

Police on Monday were searching for a Durham man wanted in a fatal drive-by shooting on the Durham Freeway last month.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police on Monday were searching for a Durham man wanted in a fatal drive-by shooting on the Durham Freeway last month.

Demario Eugene Carr, 26, of Davinci Street, was shot in the head while riding in a northbound car on N.C. Highway 147 near North Roxboro Street on March 19. Police said another vehicle pulled alongside the car, and someone in the second vehicle opened fire.

The driver of the vehicle Carr was in then drove to Durham police headquarters, and an ambulance took Carr to Duke University Hospital, where he died two days later.

Investigators on Monday issued an arrest warrant for Terry Percell Green, 22, of 1835 Cheek Road on a charge of murder.

Green is known to frequent the areas of the 3000 block of Weaver Street, North Buchanan Boulevard and Green Street. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Durham police at 919-560-4440, extension 29332, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
