Chappelle, beach music highlight the week ahead

Posted June 17, 2013

— Just because the weekend's over doesn't mean you can't have fun! Here are some events to get you through the workweek.

Monday: End a hazy summer day with music from New Orleans band Hazy Ray at The Pour House. This is a free show!

Tuesday: Watch the Bulls battle the Bats at the DBAP. In last week's away game series, the Bulls were 2-2 against the Louisville team, so it should be a good match-up.

Wednesday: Comedian Dave Chappelle at Meymandi Concert Hall will be a hit. His commentary on race, politics and popular culture has made him one of the most recognized comedians in the country. Tickets are extremely limited, so grab them if you can!

Thursday: Jim Quick & The Coastline Band will perform at North Hills' Midtown Beach Music Festival. Come enjoy an evening of live music, dancing and fun with friends.

And if all else fails, you can always head to the movie theater to see some of the summer blockbusters that are coming out!

Glancing ahead, we have a colorful weekend coming up. The Color Vibe 5K is Saturday, and Carrboro's Chalk It Up contest is Sunday. Register by the end of today if you're interested.

Check back on Thursday for more weekend best bets!
