Abdoulaye Diallo, killed in Alamance wreck
GRAHAM, N.C. — A recent East Chapel Hill High School graduate died Monday in a head-on collision in Alamance County, authorities said.

Abdoulaye Diallo, 18, of Lindsey St. in Chapel Hill, was westbound on N.C. Highway 54 at about 3:40 p.m. Monday when his car crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound vehicle, authorities said.

Diallo was killed and two other people were injured. There was no word on their identities or conditions.

Diallo, who graduated in June, played on the varsity football and basketball teams at East Chapel Hill High, Principal Eileen Tully said.

"Abdoulaye possessed the qualities and character traits that we hope all of our students will have and develop. His personality and award-winning smile drew others to him – students and teachers alike," Tully said. "A tragedy such as this is devastating to the entire school community. It is impossible to understand."
