Glee Kids, the popular children's clothing and gift shop in Chapel Hill, is getting new and bigger digs.

Noelle Garstka, the owner and Chapel Hill mom of three, tells me that the store will be open at its current location at University Square on Franklin Street through early February. She is planning to celebrate a grand reopening in University Mall on the weekend of Feb. 9.

Garstka, who took over the store last year, said that she is working to minimize any downtime and is hoping the store will be closed for no more than a day, if that, during the move.

The move comes because redevelopment plans are in the works for University Square later this year. Garstka said  the bigger space will allow for more special programming, though none is scheduled yet.

Right now, the store, which offers higher end, boutique clothing for kids, has its big end-of-season bucket sale - all fall and winter clothing and shoes are up to 60 percent off. And Abigail Blosser Photography will be at the store on Jan. 26 for a special My Lovey and I mini photo sessions.

Also ... if anybody is interested, the store is selling all existing fixtures.
