Careful 'bout guns in CH, folks there might get testy and run ya outa town. Course they got no crime problem in CH just ask Town Hall, kinda like Durham in that respect. No gang trouble neither. bet them break-ins was just a misunderstanding of sorts.

Gas prices must be affecting the Durham thugs; they have to stay close to home. Only three break-ins and that's news?

"I've taken to leaving the person(s) casing my house notes and I plan on installing cameras within the next week."

Yeah, THAT will stop them! Nothing like a camera to deter masked thieves!

Get some childrens toys, leave them in the yard. Put up a flag. Get a PISTOL (or shotgun), and learn how to use it! The dog is good, how big is he? Make sure your security sign is very visible. Leave the radio on during the day. Leave a big jar of loose change on the kitchen table.

You guys have no sense of humor! Right over your heads.

In typical Chapel Hill Mode, Xiaoding says: "Well, we need to register and confiscate all the guns in Chapel Hill immedietly (sic)!!"

Also, they dont hate you, they really like you! They find you as easy pickings. They find you typically wont prosecute (though that seems to be changing...finally) nor does anyone have hand guns to protect themselves. In other words they can get away with it.

Also as government GIVES away more and more, people come to expect their handouts. Why work for things when I can have it handed to me, or I can just take it?

There are your root causes. Real simple actually.

Gun control doesn't take guns out of criminals hands, it only takes guns out of law abiding citizens hands. Though I am a bit confused as to where the "confiscate all the guns" comment came from since nothing in this story mentions weapons.

Regardless as the economy continues to dive there will be more and more home invasions. My house has been being cased for the better part of the past month even though I have a security system and dog. I've taken to leaving the person(s) casing my house notes and I plan on installing cameras within the next week.

Well, we need to register and confiscate all the guns in Chapel Hill immedietly!!

The people of Chapel Hill need to look in the mirror, ask themselves "why do they hate us so much?", then examine the ROOT CAUSES of all these break ins! For shame, Chapel hill!!
