Chapel Hill police seek help finding robber

Chapel Hill police are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted in a robbery and assault at a convenience store Tuesday.

N.C. — Chapel Hill police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted in a robbery and assault at a convenience store Tuesday.

Police said the man entered the Marathon store at 1501 E. Franklin St., assaulted the clerk and took money from the cash register.

The man is described as black, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and wearing a goatee. He was wearing a hat with the words “KILLIN’ IT” on the front and a black hooded sweatshirt with “Durham Tech” on it.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515. Crime Stoppers pays cash for tips that solve cases, and callers may remain confidential.
