Chapel Hill man charged in Durham store robberies

Police have charged a Chapel Hill man in connection with two convenience store robberies in Durham.

Tajudeen Borokinni, 29, of Pinegate Circle, faces two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of second-degree kidnapping in connection with the April 17 crimes.

The first robbery happened at the Kangaroo convenience store at 2229 N.C. Highway 54 at around 3:50 a.m. The second happened around 6 a.m. at Cruizer's at 3578 Hillsborough Road.

Borokinni was in the Orange County jail when he was charged, Durham police said.

    So the man was already in the Orange County jail when the Durham police charged him for their robberies. Interesting. And with a name like Tajudeen Borokinni, he may just BE one of RAS' illegal immigrants.

    Eh, that's a stretch, and a real over simplification. This seems like a open and shut case centered around a thief with a gun, who deserves jail if he's found guilty. It doesn't really involve things like civil liberties, racial profiling, and the rise of a police state, if that's what you're alluding to.

    Just let this man go. Arresting him and posting his booking photo shows intollerance. Maybe his actions are his only way of surviving. Who cares what he did was illegal? We should be more accepting. Sound stupid? My comments make as much sense as the same arguments being used for ILLEGAL immigration.
