CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel High School will continue to honor the memory of a senior football player who died in mid August.

A vigil will be held in the school's Hanes Auditorium, 1709 High School Road, at 3 p.m. Saturday for Atlas Fraley, 17, an offensive guard and defensive tackle.

Four people will speak, including Fraley's coach, Issac Martin, and first cousin, Dovonte Edwards.

Fraley’s parents found him unresponsive on the evening of Aug. 12 at the family’s home at 202 Fan Branch Lane. They were unable to revive him. Fraley had participated in a football scrimmage that afternoon.

The state medical examiner's office has not issued a cause of death.

Orange County Emergency Management Services and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Fraley’s death.
