Changes coming to Lowes Foods coupon policy

Posted May 6, 2015

Lowes Foods

Lowes Foods is in the process of making changes to their coupon policy including clarifying their acceptance of competitor's coupons. I have spoken with the corporate office and they indicated that the changes would be posted in the "near future" on their website. They will also be announcing the changes on social media.

At this time, they are not releasing the details of the changes. They would only say that they were clarifying the current policy of accepting competitor's coupons, among other things. That could mean that they will specify which stores they will accept coupons from, that they will begin taking coupons for specific products (not just for a total off your total order), etc. At this time, we just don't know.

You can see the current Lowes Foods coupon policy at LowesFoods.com.

Once they post the new policy, I'll be sure to update everyone here on the blog.

rohu - I think that is a common policy at LF now. My Lowes has not taken ECB's for a while. They are probably clarifying that kind of thing in the the new policy. I always use them at Harris Teeter or CVS.

They did not take my ExtraCare bucks this Monday (from competitor CVS, which I earned from buying Pantene shampoo, which Lowes also obviously sells, thus making them a competitor) and I chalked it up to an uninformed manager. (It's not a huge deal, I'll just redeem them by returning to CVS to buy something else. Although, I don't understand why Lowes wouldn't take them, since it's highly likely I'll buy something else when I return to CVS, which they could have sold to me instead, had they taken my ECB.

Now I wonder if that was not a mistake, but part of this new policy? I was specifically told that "CVS is not a competitor". What? It's a store full of the exact items (minus prescription drugs) that Lowes also sells.

Sorry for the rant. That was the first time my Lowes did not take ECB.

wildfrenchrose - That's too bad. At least you let them know about the issues.

Repeatedly. Last time I had issues with both stores I used to shop at sometimes. The one manager made it up to me, but when the other one called I was extremely busy and asked him to call back later. He agreed, and I've never heard back from him again.

wildfrenchrose - My Lowes Foods employees are so nice. I wish you could borrow them. :-) I am guessing you have already contacted LF customer service about the store issues. If not, it may help to let them know there are issues.

Whatever they are, they can't make up for their customer service issues, and won't be enough to get me back in their stores!

TJ84 - it will be interesting to see what changes they make to the policy. Hopefully they are for the better!

I did hear a commercial the other day on the radio where they stated that they were taking competitor's coupons.
