Raleigh, N.C. — The Triangle is expected to experience calmer weather on Tuesday after the region endured lines of thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening.
Wake, Durham, Orange, Vance and Granville counties were under a severe thunderstorm warning until 12:15 a.m. as a second line of thunderstorms moved through the area. Heavy showers and pea-sized hail was reported as the first line of storms impacted the Monday evening commute.
Tuesday's temperatures will start in the upper 50s under partly cloudy skies before warming up to 71 degrees.
Partly cloudy skies will cover the Triangle this week as temperatures reach 76 on Wednesday, 66 on Thursday and 68 on Friday.
"Wednesday, Thursday you'll notice a few rain drops but shouldn't be any big ordeal," said WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze, who added that Saturday could be much wetter.
