Actress Alfre Woodard was expected to work a phone bank at Obama's Raleigh campaign headquarters Monday. She won Emmy Awards for roles on television series "Hill Street Blues," "L.A. Law" and "The Practice" and a television movie, "Miss Evers' Boys."
Actor, director and producer Sean Astin was scheduled to meet with voters across North Carolina this week, including Raleigh and Chapel Hill, to encourage early voting and to support Clinton's campaign. The son of actress Patty Duke, he is best known for his roles in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "Rudy."
Meanwhile, former President Bill Clinton was scheduled to visit North Carolina Wednesday for the fifth time to campaign for his wife, and the Clintons' daughter, Chelsea, was expected Tuesday to make her third campaign appearance in the state.
