CARY, N.C. — Well, maybe a 100K (or even a 50K) doesn't seem like a relaxing way to spend the Fourth of July. But the 21st Annual Firecracker Ride offers something for everyone: live music, a scenic ride, and post-ride fun.
The All Star Bike Shop in Cary's Saltbox Village serves as the starting line for the Firecracker Ride. Starting at 8 a.m., cyclists will tour through southern Wake County on both the 50K and 100K routes, which will have rest stops and refreshments available.
The ride ends at the Hibernian Pub in Cary, where the post-ride party begins! After the race everyone is welcome for a delicious buffet, raffles, live music and the Tour de France on TV. Also, the first 700 registered riders will get free Goodberry's, and massages will be available on-site.
Registration for both rides is only $30, and proceeds benefit the MS Society. The buffet is $11.50 in advance and $13 the day of the event. You can purchase your registration, raffle tickets and meal online.
