Groundhog Day, Feb. 2, lands on Sunday this year.
Sir Walter Wally will make his prognostication at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences as he does every year. From noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, the downtown Raleigh museum will celebrate the day with a storytime, demonstrations and other activities. The actual shadow ceremony is slated for 1 p.m. Before and after the ceremony, you can meet Sir Wally.
Garner's event also will include crafts, music and contests. Special guests include Recycle Can Guy, Smokey Bear, the Chick-fil-A cow, McGruff the Crime Dog and Big Mortimer.
General parking will be at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Rd., across the street from White Deer Park. Handicap accessible parking will be available at White Deer.
