From nail art to gel polish, make your nails the hottest at the holiday party this year. We caught up with The Junction Salon and Bar's "The Nail God" Carlos O'Neal and Megan Federwisch to find out what trends they are seeing this season. Here's what we found out:
Gel polish - This type of polish doesn't chip and stays on for at least two weeks. My nails typically hold it for nearly a month, especially when I use my cuticle oil every night like "The Nail God" instructed. It also has a great shine to it. Removal can be tricky so either head back to your salon or buy a gel polish removal kit from Sephora.

Reverse French manicure - Try different colors and shape combinations - sideways or even triangular. (Shuga and Spice has a great how-to guide)
Ombre - This look is similar to the hairstyle. Two colors - one base and another fading into it. Love this look. Glamour has a guide to creating your own ombre look and it is pretty simple. Just use your first color, then blend the two colors together on a flat surface with a toothpick. Sponge that mixture on the tips and wait for it to dry.
Sometimes you just need a little pampering. So if it starts pouring, head to the nearest salon!
Caviar - This trend involves one layer of polish and then sprinkling caviar pearls on your nails. I tried this trend earlier this year and loved it. The only problem: I kept losing the little pearls everywhere. Make sure to use a good topcoat. Kits are available at Sephora.
Hot colors this season: Oxblood/wine, neons, nudes, silver and gold (especially gold leafing on the tips) and also matte shades.

Have you tried any of these styles?
