RALEIGH, N.C. — The holiday season is upon us and this weekend is full of ways to get into the spirit.
Cask Festival - Sick of shopping on Black Friday? Well, enjoy some craft beer instead. The 8th annual NC Black Friday Cask Festival is at Triangle Brewing Company on Friday from 3-8 p.m. Enjoy 25 different casks made from 25 different North Carolina breweries. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Proceeds go to the NC Brewers Guild. 
Holiday Gift Market - Forget the mall, head to the Jim Graham Building at the NC State Fairgrounds for the Christmas Carousel Holiday Gift Market this weekend. With more than 250 exhibitors, it is one of the largest collections of arts, crafts and holiday gifts assembled in one location. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for senior citizens. Children get in for $4 and those 5 years and younger are admitted free.
North Carolina Holiday Flotilla - Head to Wrightsville Beach for this annual two-day celebration. It kicks off with a launch party Friday night at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort. The fun continues on Saturday at the Festival in the Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wrightsville Beach Park. The lighted boat parade starts at 6 p.m. It is followed by fireworks 7:30 p.m.
Holiday Pops with the NC Symphony - Carols, season and classic favorites and a visit from Santa all highlight this show by the North Carolina Symphony. Performances are Friday and Saturday at Meymandi Concert Hall. Tickets start at $45. 
The Carolina Ballet presents "The Nutcracker" at the DPAC. There are performances all weekend of this heartwarming story of Clara and her Nutcracker doll. Tickets start at $32. 
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical - This classic holiday tale comes to life on stage this weekend at Fletcher Opera Theater. Tickets start at $20.
