Cashwell Elementary principal earns regional honor
Kim Robertson, the principal of Elizabeth Cashwell Elementary School in Cumberland County, was named Wednesday as the 2015 Sandhills/South Central Regional Principal of the Year.

Robertson, who is the wife of Fayetteville Mayor Nat Robertson, has been at Cashwell Elementary for nine years. She said she enjoys developing young teachers, especially those who want to become principals.
"Growing teachers, that is one of the things I enjoy most," she said. "Sometimes it's very challenging and difficult, but it's fun and I enjoy it every day."
Robertson was up against 11 other principals, who represented counties throughout south central North Carolina. She now has the chance to participate in the statewide Principal of the Year competition, sponsored by Wells Fargo. That award will be bestowed on May 7 in Cary.
