— Police on Tuesday arrested a Cary woman on drug and child abuse charges, alleging that she gave her child access to heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Holly Springs police charged Meghan Marie Cunningham, 23, of 309 Swordgate Drive, with one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse.

The child's age isn't listed in the arrest warrant, and it was unclear Wednesday who has custody of the child.

Garion Jason Gray, 20, of 220 Gordon St. in Cary, was arrested with Cunningham. He was charged with one count each of heroin possession, possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the keeping and selling of controlled substances.

People are really taking irresponsibility to a new level. I've said it recently, I don't know what's going on with Garner, Raleigh, Wake Co. lately. The crimes that are taking place over the past months are really alarming. People give Durham a bad rap on these boards, but crime shows no prejudice, only the portrayal by writers and readers does.

It's a Cary address, off of Waldo Rood, have to pass that road on bicycle to get from one section of greenway to the other.

Found Garion's mug, but not Meghan:

So did the authorities take the child away?

Or did they do the usual and leave the child in the home? Or with a relative who turns the child back over to the abusing parties as soon as the authorities aren't looking???

    God bless.

Well, she might have had the child at a young age, meaning that it was not merely a toddler, but who knows. I try not to assume.

The kid could easily be 7 or 8...even 9.

    still sick!!

Well, she might have had the child at a young age, meaning that it was not merely a toddler, but who knows. I try not to assume. 23 is still quite young to me, goodness... I'm 19 and couldn't imagine being a mom by 23. Yikes.
