the girl hit was my sister and she had no idea that the punch was coming. she clubbed her in the face with it and she actually was trying to hit the person next to her. this girl came over to a house that she was not invited to drunk and they took her keys from her. when she realized that she wasn't getting her keys back she went ballistic and clubbed the first person she could get with the baseball. my sister had to have complete reconstructive surgery on her face.

My guess is that she used the baseball to punch the victim somewhere on the head or in the face, resulting in the serious injury. It seems unlikely the victim would've known she was about to be clubbed.

maybe she didnt throw it. maybe she used the ball to club her victim.

can't hands be deemed 'deadly weapons' if enough injury is inflicted using them?

im just asking because if that's the case, then rendering a baseball a deadly weapon isn't so far of a stretch. we don't know what kind of injuries the victim sustained. if this woman caved in her victim's head, it's a pretty safe bet that the baseball was used as a deadly weapon.

A baseball can inflict a painful and serious injury. Of course it depends on how hard and how accurately it is thrown . Maybe she's secured a place on the prison team with this act.

We need Baseball control laws now!!!!

What next?... 'Cary man charged in alleged wet noodle assault'. I have struggled with justifying the classification of some of the implements used in assaults as 'deadly weapons'. They can be borderline rediculous.

Of course a baseball CAN kill if the circumstances are right, but I would never classify a baseball as a 'deadly weapon'. This will just push the libs to call for a ban on all baseballs.

"a baseball, a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury."

Huh? Oh yeah, it's Cary police. A department here they make a federal case when a mentally ill old man steals a few bucks from the collection plate.

she inflicted serious injury. i wonder what injuries were suffered by the victim. i also wonder what the victim did to invoke the wrath of this young woman. not that im excusing her actions at all, im just curious what led to this.
