Right on ccs1920, I have told them to slow down and the driver was basicly rude. The drivers are inconsistant, rude and all around bad drivers. I see them speeding, running stop signs and lights, and driving with students standing up. And yes they make way more than minimum wage!!!

I wonder if it is the same school bus that travels 40-45mph in a 25mph zone on Castalia Drive, in Cary, around 3:00pm every school day?

Z man you seem to know a lot!! Are you a spy for the school system? Where I live the drivers make more than minimum wage, 10-16 per hour. Glad no children were hurt.

Fact: the speed limit in that direction on Walnut street is 35 MPH - there's a sign well before where the wreck occurred. Fact: the bus hit a tree with enough force to crush the front of the bus, knocking out the windshield and flatten the tree. Fact: There were 40 foot skid marks there this morning when I drove bye. Fact: there have been 5 bus wrecks in Wake county in the last 5 weeks. How many facts do I need?

Or maybe Zman...something cut her off. Do you really need to insult bus drivers without any facts?

Seems every week one of our busses gets in a wreck. The body shop guys at WCPSS transportation are keeping real busy. Maybe if they paid the drivers more than minimum wage they'd draw higher quality employees that wouldn't wreck our busses. Probably dialing her cell phone (or texting).

I wonder who the three boys who appeared to be in 4-6 grade were, who were standing on a curb with their back packs, next to a police officer. I figured they were on the bus. And, it looked more like she mowed down a line of hedges before she hit a tree. This was around 4:45pm.

Is it just me, or have we had quite a few school bus accidents lately?

  • 10-39 Jan 29, 2009

This is news because all the people who saw the accident or were stuck in traffic want to know if there were kids on board and if everyone was ok.

why is this story news worthy??? public embarrassment for the driver???
