The North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary has proved so popular that organizers are extending it a couple of weeks.
The festival, which was scheduled to close this Sunday, will now close Jan. 17. The festival includes more than 20 displays made of hundreds of parts and thousands of LED lights. It's beautiful!

"We are delighted there has been so much excitement and activity surrounding this incredible event," said Lyman Collins, the town's cultural arts manager, in a press release. "The response has been so overwhelming and we simply want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to come and enjoy this amazing cultural experience – or come back and see it again."

The festival is at Cary's Booth Amphitheatre.
