What kind of reporting is this? "Medical Event" Explanation please, because the only logical one is that the person is crazy, and therefore should not have a gun at all.
As for those wondering why this is newsworthy.???? Really, a day after the Paris shootings, and you wonder why people would phone this in? Maybe you have a medical issue too.

2 Weeks ago this guy was just "strolling down the street" too. Well, until he decided to pump rounds into 3 people.

Not saying that's going to happen every time, but you have to be pretty naïve to think that walking down the street with a rifle shouldn't scare a few people.

But, since it's perfectly legal here, it could never turn into an active shooter situation, right?

what does Durham have to do with anything? At least they report real news there! "This turned out to be a medical issue"?!?!?! Really? Only in Cary does stuff like this get swept under the rug

Whether it's a crime or not, walking around in public with a rifle is a stupid thing to do and is likely to get you into trouble.

Since when is it a crime to walk around with a rifle, NC is an open carry state. Wonder what dumdass called that in.

When dozens of armed policemen and their K-9s are actively patrolling our generally quiet neighborhoods, YES it is news worthy. The people that live in this area had to rely on social media postings from neighbors to piece together information and decide whether our families were in danger. The media is sometimes able to get information before "regular" citizens do. It is important for us to know what is going on in our neighborhoods. And to be clear, though I am married to a passionate gun advocate, walking down a heavily populated neighborhood sidewalk with a rifle over your shoulder can NOT be considered a smart decision by any sane person. And, as far as I know, there are laws about where one can and can't hunt and fire weapons and I'd be willing to bet good money that even IF he were hunting (which I highly doubt) he was not within his legal right to do so where he was.

A man walking with a rifle turns out to be a medical issue - huh ?? And the all clear was given - all clear from what? Totally incomprehensible reporting of a non-event.
