Aketzaly "Sally" Valentin

— Police in Cary have reunited with her family a 13-year-old girl who had been missing for more than a month.

Aketzaly "Sally" Valentin was found safe in Raleigh late Monday evening, a spokeswoman for the town said.

Valentin was last seen at her home on Hickory Street on the morning of Oct. 12, but she wasn't reported missing because her parents thought they knew where she was.

They recently became concerned and contacted police.

Hearing from her is not the same as knowing where she is. She is only 13, it is the duty of Police to look for her, even if the parents did not report her missing. If they knew she was not at home, not at school, then everyone should have been looking for her.

I agree, Killntime. She needs to be found. She's a sweetheart but she's very easily led. Her family has heard from her a few times but they believe she's under the influence of her boyfriend who is only a few years older than she is. It's not going to lead to a good outcome for her...which is terribly sad.

Why are we just hearing about a 13yr old that is missing this long? The time to let people know to watch for a child is immediately after they go missing, Oct 12, this is Nov 24th, that is about 45 days. People could of been watching for her had they known, don't care if she left on her own she is 13 and not an adult.
