— Cary police are looking for two men wanted in the armed robbery early Sunday of a local McDonald's.

Investigators said the men walked into the 24-hour fast-food restaurant at 869 SE Maynard Road shortly after 3 a.m., flashed a gun and ended up leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Both men's faces were covered with a camouflage bandana.

One of the men was described as a skinny, black man in his early 20s who stood 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, orange gloves and dark athletic pants with white stripes. He carried a blue backpack.

The second man was described as a black man in his early 20s who was 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, black gloves and blue jeans.

Several employees were in the restaurant, but there were no reports of injuries.

Anyone in the area during the time of the robbery or anyone who might have information that could help police solve the crime is asked to contact the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746.

"There are...Read the newest armed robbery report of the bank in Cary just this morning...Wonder if its the same people?"- Phyxius1

That's my guess. The last time we had multiple robberies in Cary, it was the same set of people hitting as many places as they could in a few days. They got caught, just like the guy who tried the same thing before them.

Even criminals are getting lazy. McDonald's? Surely there can't be more lucrative businesses in Cary.

At that hr, McDonalds should only have their drive thru open, not the inside resturant.

"Waiting for the comments of how these robbers had to be from Durham as a Cary resident wouldn't commit a crime. Seems to come up once in awhile on a Cary crime story."

Nah, I'd guess they're from Raleigh since Raleigh is right up the road :)

Imagine - here in Cary - they will be caught and we will see them in prison for a long, long time! I imagine at that time of night/early morning they only got a few $$$$ - not worth the risk.
