CARY, N.C. — Cary police were investigating a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon by men wearing wigs and masks.

Police said that two men entered the Capital Bank at 7705 Carpenter Fire Station Road around 4:15 p.m. and demanded money. A getaway driver waited outside in a gray, four-door sedan. The trio fled in the sedan.

Police said the robbery was unrelated to a recent string of bank robberies in Cary and Raleigh.

Investigators asked for help identifying the robbers and the getaway car. Anyone near the area during the time of the robbery should call police at 919-469-4324 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-266-3746.

Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards up to $2,500 for information leading to arrests in certain felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
