Cary police investigate first homicide of the year
Cary police were investigating the slaying of 72-year-old man who was found dead inside his car Saturday morning at the High House Crossing shopping center on N.C. Highway 55.

Police say the death of Luciano Mariano Andia, of Cary, is the town's first homicide of the year. Cary's last homicide was the shooting death of Wendy Jean Johnson, of Sanford, in August.
Police said they received a call shortly before 7 a.m. and found Andia's body in the car. Detectives said he sustained injuries "that appear to have led to his death," but the did not elaborate. His body was taken to the state medical examiner's office.
Cary Police Department Capt. Randall Rhyme said the crime shouldn't change the town's reputation for being one of the safest places in the country.
"I think we have a very safe community. I think statistics show that every year we're one of the safest cities in the nation, and we hope to continue to be that way," Rhyme told WRAL.
Anyone with information on Andia is asked to call Cary police at 919-469-4012 or file a report anonymously with Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-460-4636. Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest.
