CARY, N.C. — Cary leaders will take up the issue of pole signs next year.

Cary officials said two billboards – one for South Hills Mall and another belonging to Fairway Outdoor Advertising – are not in compliance with the town's ordinance. Owners of those signs were being charged $500 a day in fines.

Nothing was decided Monday night at a town meeting regarding the merits of the sign ordinance. The issue will be revisited at a Jan. 9 meeting.
