CARY, N.C. — A Cary man who told police that he killed his mother and girlfriend is expected to make his first court appearance Monday afternoon.

According to authorities, Brandon Lee, 34, of 24203 Havers Drive called police at 3:41 p.m. Sunday, claiming to have killed the two women.

Police said Christa Lee, 58 was found at the Legacy Crossroads apartments, which is listed as Brandon Lee's address. Krystal Juell Hylton, 28, was found at the Lofts at Weston Lakeside Apartments on Parktop Drive.

A man who lives at one of the apartment complexes where a body was found says it's usually a quiet area.

"This is a quiet neighborhood. I just posted on Facebook about how I loved the diversity and how my grandson loves to play around here," said neighbor Jim Semmens. "It's really quiet, really fun, really friendly. It's a shocker that something like this happened in our neighborhood,"

Only three other homicides were reported in Cary this year. The most recent was reported on Dec. 17.

“At what is regarded as one of the most joyous times of the year, our hearts are full of sorrow for what are now three Cary families and their friends who are suffering the incredibly tragic loss of their loved ones,” said Police Chief Tony Godwin.

Lee was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. He was being held at the Wake County Public Safety Center without bond.

Lee faced previous charges this year for first-degree trespassing, communicating threats, injury to personal property and disorderly conduct.

Anybody with information about the incident is asked to call the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012 or Crime Stoppers at 919-460-4636.
