— A Cary man faces a dozen sexual exploitation charges after police say he distributed sexually explicit photos of young children he found online.

Andrew Whitmore Campbell, 35, of 202 Hyde Park, Apt. J, was arrested Monday and jailed under a $900,000 bond on 12 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor, according to arrest warrants. The crimes are alleged to have occurred between Feb. 19 and April 2.

The documents do not say what led to his arrest but cite 12 photos of boys and girls who appear to be between the ages of 6 and 16 in "lewd and lascivious and sexually suggestive" poses.

Some of the photos also include men and women involved in sexual acts with the children.

Cary police investigators said Tuesday that they don't believe the children in the photos are local.

and the purveying of pornography is searching for violent sexual acts against a child, which in and of itself should be a crime, and I suppose it IS.........

I can't tell you how horrifying these stories are. What is wrong with the human mind - EVIL - that's what's wrong. DEPRAVITY is what's wrong......and it's only going to get worse as times goes by until the Lord puts an end to this mess.

"Raping children is certainly a violent crime. When you contribute to the activity by giving the perverts an audience, YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACT. These people are sharing this filth because there are sick people that want to see it." - it's the who what's that where?

    Got it. Guilt by association.

    Still not a violent crime.

"You know, I was thinking the other day, it is kinda funny how the Cary News doesn't print the police blotter anymore, in the paper or online."

Last I checked, it was still in the paper and it covers Apex, Cary, Holly Springs and a few others I think. I think they use the title "Crime Notes" now not "Police Blotter".

Yet another violent crime in Cary NC. This dangerous town is starting to have WAY too many of these types of crimes for a "family-oriented" town. - It's the who what...

Sorry you are so "anti-Cary". While this is certainly a sick individual, it does not represent the town. The fact that Cary PD monitors this helps identify these perverts. Regarding the 'flashers' on the Greenway, while it makes great headlines, it too does not make for a 'dangerous town'. Just as in Durham, the attacks on the Tobacco Trail should not paint the city as evil.

""Yet another violent crime in Cary NC."

Where in the story is the "violent" part? What this man is accused of is most certainly serious but you might want to dial back the drama just a bit and keep it real.
