Cary man accused of peeping on boy faces more charges
A Cary man who admitted to taking pictures of a boy in a Raleigh amusement park's bathroom last week is facing more indecent liberties charges involving multiple children, according to an arrest warrant.
Posted — UpdatedFrom December 2011 to February, John Courtney took "immoral, improper and indecent liberties" with numerous boys – all under the age of 16 – "for the purpose of arousing and gratifying sexual desire," according to an arrest warrant.
Courtney, 46, of of 117 Old Bridge Lane, was arrested Tuesday and posted $100,000 bond.
Officers also arrested him last week after a 9-year-old boy's grandfather saw Courtney allegedly trying to taking pictures of the child at a urinal at Adventure Landing on Capital Boulevard on June 27, police said.
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction confirmed that Courtney works as a duplicating services manager for the agency. He has been placed on leave while the criminal matter is under investigation, a spokesperson for the department said.
Courtney, who has worked at the department since 2004, earns $41,100 a year.
