RALEIGH, N.C. — A Cary man who admitted to taking pictures of a boy in a Raleigh amusement park's bathroom last week is facing more indecent liberties charges involving multiple children, according to an arrest warrant.

From December 2011 to February, John Courtney took "immoral, improper and indecent liberties" with numerous boys – all under the age of 16 – "for the purpose of arousing and gratifying sexual desire," according to an arrest warrant.

Courtney, 46, of of 117 Old Bridge Lane, was arrested Tuesday and posted $100,000 bond.

Officers also arrested him last week after a 9-year-old boy's grandfather saw Courtney allegedly trying to taking pictures of the child at a urinal at Adventure Landing on Capital Boulevard on June 27, police said.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction confirmed that Courtney works as a duplicating services manager for the agency. He has been placed on leave while the criminal matter is under investigation, a spokesperson for the department said.

Courtney, who has worked at the department since 2004, earns $41,100 a year.
