Posted June 5, 2013

A Cary man is facing charges after investigators said he distributed child pornography.

Timothy Edmon Jones, 25, of the 1000 block of Nottingham Court, is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Cary Police said Jones had three videos depicting girls ages 7 to 13 engaged in sex acts with men.

Jones was held in the Wake County jail under a $100,000 bond and is scheduled for a court appearance Thursday.

Since Cary does not have as many other violent crimes as most other cities (voted one of the safest cities in America), then more resources can be put into crimes like this. Other cities have to focus on more immediate crimes so do not have the time nor manpower it takes to work on crimes like Cary can. My opinion at least...

Try as I can, I just cannot find any mention of a Raleigh cybercrimes unit or any arrests they have made. They must be DEEP undercover. I DID find mention of car helping out Raleigh on a case.

Regardless of what cities have a cybercrime unit the SBI has their own division, a friend of mine works in that department and he once quoted to me that Cary was the hot bed for child porn in NC. I'm not bashing Cary and have not ever been there. Just repeating what was said to me from an insider of the SBI.

Well, seems like, yeah. It's the only CITY with one. Guess that's why they're finding it in Cary, for the people they serve.

I`m usually not a defender of Cary but according to City Data.com, Cary has less sex offenders per residents than other cities around.

According to our research of North Carolina and other state lists there were 18 registered sex offenders living in Cary as of June 06, 2013.

The ratio of number of residents in Cary to the number of sex offenders is 7,589 to 1.

The number of registered sex offenders compared to the number of residents in this city is a lot smaller than the state average

Cary is relatively crime-free, therefore the local PD has more time to catch perverts like this one.

HERE WE GO AGAIN... ANOTHER FINE CARY CITIZEN ON THE POLICE "BLOTTER FOR YET ANOTHER CHILD PORN CASE. REALLY? REALLY!?!?! I FEEL SORRY FOR ALL THE CHILDREN IN THAT TOWN!! Every citizen in that town must look at each and every neighbor as they are the ones doing it!!! That's the only way to protect those kids!! What's it going to take an actual abduction of a child?????"

Im not making excuses for this sicko, but you do realize that he isnt filming these kids doing anything? He isnt bringing them to his house and making them do stuff.

with that said, I hope he rots under the jail for even watching it.

"These and other types of criminals go to Cary because they are comfortable there. Quit making excuses and own up to what this town really is. BTW, the proof is in the news EVERYDAY!"

    Sure it is..sure it is.

A simple "I can't prove it" would have sufficed.
